Reference Services

In this section you will find the Reference services documentation.

What is a Reference Service?

Information that particularly will not change often, but because there are so many data points, the whole dataset is changing constantly and massively.

Examples:

  • Geographical Point of Interests i.e. where is the closest water drinking station from here? a pharmacy?
  • Country 'Static' information i.e. Census, land-size, flag pictograms, head of state, etc.
note

Imagine how often you change your mobile phone number. Not often, really. Probably twice in your life-time.

Now imagine how many new phone numbers are created or released on daily basis. Think about all the 12-14-18 years old youngest getting their first mobile number, or the old person passing away, releasing their number.

These datasets have billions of records, and millions of them are changing daily.
